Glen Shiel - again
When Meg and I set off on Sunday morning the owls were still hooting and the moon and stars were bright and clear. It took us just over 2 hours to get to Glen Shiel where we were heading for the Brothers’ Ridge. (Their more famous siblings are the 5 Sisters of Kintail which I’ve still o to climb).
It was an incredibly steep path initially and Meg periodically waited for me to catch up. Our first munro of the day was Saileag, a mere snip at 956m. Looking east along the ridge we could see two minor tops before the final summit ridge of Sgurr a’Bhealaich Dheirg. There is a cairn at 1030 metres, but the real summit is further along a narrow and slightly head-for-heights-scrambly ridge…which also has a drystone dyke built along it.
