Tuesday 22nd August 2011: Stob Ghabhar

The midges were vile when we arrived at the Victoria Bridge car park so Meg and I got walking asap to outdistance the wee blighters. The route is a lovely one along a river and a burn and up past a waterfall on to a wee ridge called the mini Aonach Eagach, which had one very narrow section but really was no counterpart for its bigger neighbour in nearby Glen Coe. The views over the Rannoch Moor were magnificent.
Meg was in the waters at every opportunity and I had a welcome paddle in the cool clear river over lunch. Bliss.
