My saying that Meg and I walked around Loch Muick (and Meg through it actually) belittles the fact that we actually did a great ridge walk taking in 4 Munros some with easier pronunciation than others: Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Cairn Bannoch, Broad Cairn all part of the White Mounth plateau.
It was along day as we drove through to Ballater and beyond. The weather was great however and even after 18 miles when Meg got the scent of the Loch on our descent there was no holding her back: in she went and soaked those paws.
Now, where water is concerned Meg can be defiant! So I walked along the path beside the loch throwing in stones for her – which meant she followed me, then at a suitable point I got into the loch to soak my paws too.
Then, the piece de resistance was getting some food out: always brings the Labrador back. A wee treat and on to the lead: no more defiance just obedience.
