Change of plans for today. Needed centring and focusing and grounding: what better way to gain these states than a stomp up a mountain (or two). And the higher up the mountains I got the better I felt! No wonder more and more GPs are prescribing walking for patients with mild to moderate depression and other mental health issues.
First bird spotted: a golden eagle: what a start to the walk.
Had managed Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin last year, but the weather had closed in dreadfully and I decided not to proceed at that time to Stob Coire Easain. This time I could actually see Stob Coire Easain from it's partner summit. But weather changes rapidly here and not only did I get blown off my feet but by the time I got to the summit of Stob Coire Easain I couldn't see Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin. Still compass to the rescue - decided to head home by retracing my steps rather than doing a circuit.
Soaked to the skin by the time I got back to the car, but feeling much more grounded and focused.
Great therapy this mountain walking
