When I first decided to book today out as leave, the MWIS rated the chance of a cloud free Munro top as 50%. By yesterday this was down to 10% with cloud from about 200 metres. So no bagging for me. Instead some birdwatching which was fantastic. As well as the usual suspects - robins, blue tits and buzzards, there were many other feathered friends who I see less regularly - and one which is a lifer!
The list is long: long tailed tits, black throated and great northern divers, wigeons, eider ducks and, the lifer, a black tailed godwit. Brilliant sighting although I say so myself.
Many of these are black and white in colour as was the waterfall pictured above.
