Monday 29 September 2008: My first 30 days

Hard to believe that I’ve been living in my house for 30 days and I feel I’m now making my mark on it. Gone are the pink walls and frilly pink curtains in the living room. Hello Ivory Cloud walls, large Sony digital television, wireless broadband and Poang chairs! The piece de résistance is the dinning table and chairs looking out over Oban Bay. I whittle away many an hour contemplating the view above.
Why the picture of the blank wall? You may well ask! I’m feeling particularly pleased with myself as I’ve just successfully completed a plaster skim coat in my bedroom and what I’ve been calling the office. I bought this already mixed roll on skim coat. And it works!
My first-stop over guests came last weekend: my brother and sister-in-law. And they came equipped with tools, overalls and ideas and sorted many wee jobs for me. Yes, home is taking shape.
