Achnacloich is just a couple of miles beyond Connel and as you leave the main road and head up the drive it is immediately spectacular as it is tree lined and as you come up the hill and sweep round the corner looking towards the house you are met with a blaze of colour on the terraces with rhododendrons, magnolias and azaleas. Just gorgeous. The setting is grand too: overlooking Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan. It was beautiful walking through the woodland gardens with ponds and views over the loch.
