Saturday 3rd November 2007: Keswick and Latrigg

Mo and I rendezvoused with Aud and Nick on Friday evening in the Queens Head Inn in Tirril, just outside Penrith, where we had a cottage for the weekend. We decided we’d spend Saturday going round the outdoor shops in Keswick (a very traumatic activity!) and having a small walk up over Latrigg.
It seems like every other shop in Keswick is related to outdoor pursuits so we had lots of opportunities for retail therapy. Latrigg I’ve seen described as Keswick’s own personal fell. Considering our more usual stomps this was a modest little fell walk, views from which highlighted our route for the following morning around the Derwent Water. That's the photo above! The scenery was spectacular.
We intersperced these activities with lunch in the Lakeland Pedlar, a wholefood café and bikeshop: a combination made in heaven as far as I am concerned.
