After work I took a wee drive to Pithlochy to the Fischer Hotel where I checked in for the trip to the Enchanted Forest - a sound and light show at Faskally Wood. One’s “proof of purchase” of a ticket is a multi coloured luminous necklace.
The theme of the event is Creation – using Sound, light, smoke and water to illustrate the earth’s history from its early volcanic state through the Ice Age through to modern times.
When you get to the Fascally Woods a guide walks you over an illuminated path to the lochan for an amazingly colourful and noisy sound and light show where (among other things) the lochan turns into a bubbling cauldron.
You can then move in your own time through the “mystical wood” with different coloured lighting being used to convey the varying seasons: spring greens, bright yellows and orange-reds.
A brightly lit bridge (reds and blues) “ripples” by the waterside.
To finish, you end up at the far end of the locan where the structure of light used gives the impression of a modern urban landscape.
I loved it!
