I set off from the Mamore Lodge intending to top Binnein Mor and Na Gruagaichean if the weather improved even a little. The closer I walked to the Mamore range the worse the weather became with the mountains disappearing totally under very low thick cloud. A change of plan was necessary. Instead I walked along the side of Loch Eilde Mor and Loch Eilde Beag to Luibeilt and to the Bothy of Meanach. It felt incredibly remote as the nearest building is a ramshackle ruin and there are no other buildings for miles in any direction. The weather as I walked along the lochs was amazing: very low cloud either side of me in the glen, while I remained rain free for most of the time. The track to the ruin of Luibeilt is good all the way. Then it is incredibly boggy to cross to Meanach. Crossing the river was wet as the ford(s) were not fords!
