Our weather has been fabulous these last few days and I took a day off work and headed out into the hills. The Munro I chose is up in Kintail and forms part of the South Glenshiel Ridge which I intend claiming later on this year.
This was a long walk in and a very straightforward route. I managed to avoid walking through snow until I hit 863 metres, then the crampons had to go on. The snow was hard and difficult to dig steps in, but once crampons are on, it's easy to grip

I walked 17.7 km (GPS in wonderful) and my only companions were deer and ptarmigan. And I heard but didn't see grouse.
Exhilarating.
