Having registered to do the Sport Relief Mile (6 miles actually) I was delighted it was such a beautiful day: bright and sunny and hardly a breath of a breeze. D, Meg and I drove down to Seil Island to Ellenabech where the run was being held. As there is only one road out and in to Seil Island and route was a linear one. The views over the slate islands and beyond were spectacular. John fell into step with me early on in the run and as we were both doing the 6 miles (other options being The Mile and 3 miles), we kept each other company for over half the route, until he said he would stretch himself for an up and coming half marathon. D knew I wasn’t far behind and John kept saying Linda this Linda that!
A wee medal and choc bar and bottle of water were the rewards at the end. As well as all the sponsorship.
D, Meg and I sat outside of the Oyster Bar enjoying a ginger beer and watching the world go bye.
