Saturday 17th March 2012: My niece’s wedding

D and I headed south on Friday to Bridge of Weir to stay with D’s brother and sister-in-law for the weekend. We met D’s dad at Tyndrum where we swapped our precious cargo, Meg, over to D’s dad’s car. Meg would be staying with him and D’s mum while we were away.
The reason for the visit south was for my niece, Andrea’s wedding to Graham.
The wedding was held at a country club and equestrian centre. We were piped in to the ceremony by a kiltie, piped in for celebration champagne and chocolate covered strawberries immediately after the service and piped into the formal reception. Food exquisite – and that’s the vegan talking!
Andrea had designed a family table so we caught up with relatives we hadn’t seen for, eh, years.
We said our goodbyes before the evening reception really got under way (missing out a relative I’m very happy to have avoided….) and left under a beautiful starry sky with Venus and Jupiter in alignment.
Oh, I should also mention the amazing lift – previously housed in the savoy – and a stool that Marilyn Munroe once sat on…and the stained glass windows
