Saturday 12 December 2009: Mamores

This was the first opportunity in weeks to try a high level walk. Throughout November the wind in particular kept me off the mountains. Today was perfect keen frost biting at the throat and clearing the sighnesses. The walk in from Mamore Lodge to the Lochan was a beaut. As we turned into the corrie of Binnein Mor we started walking in snow. Initially Meg was fine, then as the angle became steeper she became less sure on her feet and then she started panting. Time to turn back. I had on my crampons: unfortunately her claws didn't work as dog equivalents. The views over Binnein Mor were stunning and while the top remains elusive we had a great day out.
