My Friend L from Aberdeenshire is both a John Lowrie Morrison art nut and loves coming to the West coast. So she accepted my invitation to come through for the weekend to see JoLoMo’s Enduring Isles exhibition in Oban – 101 paintings of vibrantly coloured west of Scotland landscapes and croft scenes. We picked the best day to do the exhibition: rain in Oban like it had never rained before. L was in her element.
On the following Monday I went to the Argyll and Bute hospital to start a course and what was in the canteen – 5 original JoLoMo’s! In his previous life he was a Principal Teacher at Lochgilphead School and he gave the local hospital some of his work. They could probably rebuild substantial portions of the old hospital (an asylum)if they were to auction the paintings.
