Left Meg to keep mum company and I headed for the Rannoch Moor and Blackrock Cottage and the White Corries Ski area. This walk starts, literally from the White Corries carpark: get out the car and start climbing: the path following the ski tow – a rather forlorn looking area out of “snow time”. I did the summit of Meall a Bhuiridh first and from there the ridge on to Creise looked rather formidable and forbidding. Once I was on the ridge however, it was manageable: one eye always on the ground and one step at a time. Creise has 3 tops –all of which I did. Fortunately I did the “new” summit first and ended up on the old summit at the same time as this couple I’d met on Meall a Bhuiridh. They asked where I’d gone (I’d left ahead of them). Their route book was rather old so they were pleased to have bumped into me so they headed off for the real summit.
The views from both mountains were awesome: across Buachille Etive Mor, Anoach Eagach, Glen Etive and beyond – in all directions.
