Bidean is one of those mountains (like Beinn a' Bheithir) which I’ve always been in awe of. Set off up Coire nan Lochan which was a phenomenal walk: a good slog up to the top of the corrie, and then start up the easterly ridge of Stob Coire nan Lochan = pictured above. This was really hard work in the snow. And one rocky outcrop in particular proved troublesome. Because of the snow and the height of the rocks I was meant to scramble up I couldn’t “get a grip” and tried to find another way round it. Scary stuff. Had to sit and let my legs stop shaking and my heart return to my chest rather than being in my ears!
Decided that discretion was better part of valour and about turned.
