Tuesday 24th June 08: Blast from the past

I spent the day with a friend I hadn’t seen for 8 years. In that time a lot has happened: she’s moved to France to live and work, married [to Nicolas], had two delightful wee boys [Luk and Zac] and when we met it was just as if we had last spoken yesterday: we just took off from where we had left off.
We had a smashing day: visiting the Viking Long Boat at Dunstaffnage marina and then walked round Oban – including up to McCaig’s Tower and then over on the ferry to Kerera to see Gylen Castle. Lunch was a treat: vegetarian haggis supper eaten on the dyke by the harbour watching the speed boats on their round Britain race finishing this lap in Oban harbour. I saw the range rover and the boat for the all woman team Scorpion Dubois no 16 but not a woman in sight.
