Thursday 12th June 08 – Monday 23rd June 08: Mum’s visit

Mum went into Belford hospital on Tuesday for an operation on both wrists to (hopefully) sort carpal tunnel syndrome. It’s unusual to have both wrists operated on at the same time as that totally incapacitates the individual! I visited her on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and she was in good spirits. Houston and Jane brought mum to stay with me today [Thursday]. We’ve had a grand time during her stay. I worked shorter hours and we managed to do some sightseeing - locally around Oban and Ganavan Sands and a wee trip to Inveraray where we saw the Vital Spark, an old Clyde Puffer. We also had a visit from my sister which was lovely as was a weekend trip from Bridget and Holly. By this last weekend mum felt fit enough to go home and we had a gorgeous drive up to fort William this afternoon.
