Saturday 15th March 2008: Beinn Fhionnlaidh

Another stonking day: bright cold and clear for as far as the eye could see. The walk from Elleric to Glenure is beautiful with hills all around and lots of deer. You cut across the open hillside to Beinn Fhionnlaidh and it was fascinating watching my progress on the GPS! Yes, my first outing using GPS – and I’m a convert. I still had my paper map and compass with me as back up.
There was a huge number of erractics enroute. The one in the picture really caught my attention as it wasn’t on the ground but balanced on 4 wee rocks.
The views from the top of Beinn Fhionnlaidh were gorgeous.
