After a leisurely morning I walked from home to Dunstaffnage Castle to the Ganavan Sands. Dunstaffnage Castle -and Chapel - is right across the bay from where I'm living. The shape of the Castle follows the shape of the rock outcrop it stands on, so it's an irregular quadrangle.
The walk is beautiful with views over to Lismore, Mull, the Morven mountains and Ardmucknish Bay. I walked to the Ganavan Sands via a path which hugs the bottom of the cliffs, meandering through woodland. Coming back I took the undulating path over grassy hills. In between I watched seals, sea birds and had a picnic on the Ganavan sands.
