One of the first things I did when I arrived in Edinburgh was to make contact with The AD Group - a social group with whom to go to the cinema, exhibitions, for meals and walking. They really have made me incredibly welcome. We meet once a month to arrange activities for the next month. After that, if anyone wants to go to an event, one just phones the contact person for the event to let them know you'll be coming along. Some weeks I don't go to anything with The ADs; other times, like this weekend, I've been for a meal at Susie's Wholefood Diner (one of my favorite eateries), watched enthralled the Curse of the Golden Flower, and walked the Water of Leith path: a mere 12 miles. A good stomp all the way from Balerno to Leith - finishing with chips at Malmaison. And one of the ADs has a Collie dog so lots of pet therapy while I'm away from Holly. A perfect day.
