Islay
When asked if I would mind going to Islay to deliver some training I jumped at the chance. And as it was a full day's training I'd need to get there the day before and leave the following day...so lots of time for walking and birdwatching. Oh, and I spotted a Minkie whale from the ferry and otters and gannets and and and ...As Meg was coming with me my employer was happy when I said we'd camp. Well, the site at Kintra Farm on Lagan Bay is one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing places ever. Once I'm parked looking at the beach, I want to just stay there. For Good. Meg insisted I take her along the beach - and we walked 7km watching birds as we went. We were also out on the beach by six thrty both mornings cup of tea in hand enjoying the tranquility. We also managed a trip to Loch Gruinart - an RSPB reserve with lovely bird hides viewing platforms and trails. En route to Loch Gruinart I pulled off the road to check the map and drew up beside another car only to find this woman jumping out and running towards me intent on huggin me. An old pal from London! great catch up.
The training went well too.
