Very very early start for Meg and I as we headed for the most Easterly Munro: Mount Keen - way beyond Ballater. Great drive through and then long long long walk in. For the first half of the walk - initially through magnificent pinewoods (old Great Forest of Caledon) of Glen Tanar, following the river - next to no height was gained.
Mount Keen is a conical swelling on the Mounth plateau with a good path all the way.
On the way back we stopped at the Half Way Hut for a cup of tea, and just beyond there, at the burn for a wee paddle. This way the first time I actually manged to tire Meg out - it took 31.6km to do that! And if the truth be known, I was tired too!
