Saturday 2nd May 2009: Braeraich

As I set out for the summit of the third highest Munro there were ominous dark clouds over the Sugar Bowl car park, but soon I was taking off the layers, walking in a tee-shirt and squinting my eyes before I retrieved my peaked cap from the dark recesses of my rucksack. Then just as quickly it was back into waterproof and shielding my eyes from the hailstone showers and snow. Today really was 4 seasons in one day.
As I walked along the final ridge to the summit it was a whiteout. All I could make out was a silvery format. As I got the camera out the female reindeer was suddenly aware of me lifting her head to take in my smell before she glided off.
