When I did the Ben Vorlich walk on Friday, had the weather been better I would have tagged yesterday’s mountain (Stuc ‘a Chroin) on to Friday’s. Yesterday I decided to try the hill race route for Stuc ‘a Chroin in the mistaken assumption that a hill race route would be less difficult than a regular Munro route. Wrong! This was one of the most challenging Munro routes I’ve tackled so far. Complicated by the whiteout! Still I lived to tell the tail! Yet another picture of myself on top of a mountain with no views and therefore could be anywhere, so rather than sharing that now, the picture above is of the Beinn Each ridge and Bealach nan Cabar I navigated to get on to Stuc ‘a Chroin.
While Friday’s walk was relatively straightforward (apart from yet another whiteout!),I had to take the car down an ungritted single-track road and as I approached one particularly tricky bit (bridge on corner) my car did a pirouette. Scary stuff: fortunately no harm done to the car or me - except temporarily to my pulse!
