Up near the top of Loch Creran is Fasnacloich which means “growth from a stone” in Gaelic and sure enough there are trees growing out of a rock – big Scots pines now perched on top of a huge erratic. There’s also an amazing looking Scots pine which looks like a tuning fork just before you get there: one trunk which divides into the two arms of a tuning fork. The most beautiful part of this short walk is the Fairy Bridge and waterfall. A lovely place to share tea and some fruit and nuts with the little people and have a chat with them.
