Having seen the pictures on the TV of queues in London, and heard about queues in Edinburgh for the launch of the latest HP book, I decided as part of my Saturday jog to run past Waterstones in Princes Street just to see what was going on. By the time I passed (about 0630 hours) there were no queues at Waterstones but the streets were incredibly busy for that time of the morning with youngsters clutching their carry bags with what looked like books in them.
My copy arrived by post about 0900 hours. I read in the paper that overall in Scotland the numbers of houses who had ordered the HP book was 1 in 43, and within Morningside the ratio was 1:19! I was one of these 19!
I managed to tear myself away from my book to go and do my voluntary Indian head massage sessions at the LGBT Health and Wellness Centre…and then it was straight back for an evening’s read.
