Friday 25th May 2007: Royal Botanic Gardens

The weather was gorgeous today and I walked to the Royal Botanic Gardens. There is so much to see there that I concentrated on the outdoor attractions: walking through acres of stunning tress, past and through a huge beech hedge - 8 metres - tall, through the Queen Mother's memorial garden with "history stones" outlines of what happened in each decade during her life, and then Britain's biggest plant fossil.
I'm saving the glasshouse (pictured) for another day.
